SB 1378: internet sex offender website; offenses

Overview
Expands the purview of the Department of Public Safety's (DPS) internet sex offender website to include sex offender information for all specified offenses committed against a child, regardless of the minor's age.
History
Statute requires DPS to maintain an internet sex offender website consisting of level two and level three offenders who have committed the following crimes:
1) Sexual assault;
2) Sexual exploitation of a minor, if the offender is at least 21 years old;
3) Commercial sexual exploitation of a minor;
4) Sexual abuse of a minor under 12 years old;
5) Molestation of a child under 12 years old;
6) Sexual conduct with a minor under 12 years old;
7) Child prostitution if committed before August 9, 2017;
8) Child sex trafficking;
9) Taking a child for the purpose of prostitution, if the child is under 12 years old;
10) Luring a minor for sexual exploitation, if the minor is under 12 years old;
11) Aggravated luring of a minor for sexual exploitation, if the minor is under 12 years old; and
12) Continuous sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old (A.R.S. § 13-3827).
Provisions
1. Directs DPS to include offenders on the internet sex offender website for specified offenses, regardless of the minor's age and whether the offense was completed or preparatory. (Sec. 1)
