public establishment; terrorism; definition
Purpose
Includes, in the definition of public establishment, a structure, vehicle or craft that is owned, leased or operated by a private educational institution.
Background
Public establishment means a structure, vehicle or craft that is owned, leased or operated by: 1) the State of Arizona or a political subdivision of the State of Arizona including all school districts; 2) a public agency; 3) the federal government; or 4) a health care institution. Terrorism includes any felony offense that involves the use of a deadly weapon, a weapon of mass destruction or the intentional infliction of serious physical injury in order to cause substantial damage to or substantial interruption of public establishments (A.R.S. § 13-2301).
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state General Fund associated with this legislation.
Provisions
1. Includes, in the definition of public establishment, a structure, vehicle or craft that is owned, leased or operated by a private educational institution.
2. Makes a technical change.
3. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
