Purpose
Appropriates $33,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2023 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to distribute to Yuma County to construct, widen, repair and upgrade Cesar Chavez Boulevard in the City of San Luis.
Background
ADOT is responsible for the design and construction of state public transportation systems and the maintenance and operation of state highways in Arizona (A.R.S. § 28-332). ADOT may contract and do all things necessary to secure the full benefits available to Arizona for transportation purposes under federal law. ADOT may cooperate with: 1) federal, state and local government agencies; 2) Indian tribes; 3) private and public organizations; and 4) private individuals. ADOT may exchange federal monies with local governments in order to receive local monies and include additional federal monies in the exchange to offset the matching costs required of local governments (A.R.S. § 28-334).
H.B. 2651 appropriates $33,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2023 to ADOT.
