ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Fifty-Fifth Legislature, Second Regular Session
urban air mobility committee repeal
Purpose
Delays the report date of the Urban Air Mobility Study Committee (Study Committee) and accelerates the Study Committee repeal date.
Background
In 2021, the
Study Committee was established to: 1) review Arizona laws that could impact
the urban air mobility industry and discuss necessary revisions; 2) identify
potential Arizona laws that will create jurisdictional consistency for urban
air mobility; 3) foster public acceptance and awareness for urban air mobility
by creating an outreach campaign; 4) collaborate with local governments to
identify ways to integrate urban air mobility into transportation plans; and
5) submit a report regarding the Study Committee's activities and
recommendations by July 1, 2022, to the Governor, the President of the Senate
and the Speaker of the House of Representatives and a copy of the report to the
Secretary of State (Laws 2021, Ch. 197).
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state General Fund associated with this legislation.
