AN ACT

 

Appropriating monies to the department of health services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriation; department of health services; grants; health programs; persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities; exemptions

A. The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2022-2023 to the department of health services for grants to statewide organizations that are dedicated to promoting evidence-based, inclusive health programs for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

B. The monies appropriated in subsection A of this section may be spent only:

1. For grants to organizations that collect matching monies of gifts, grants and donations for the evidence-based, inclusive health programs from sources other than this state.

2. On outreach efforts, materials and costs associated with the programs.

C. For the purposes of this act, the department of health services is exempt from the procurement code requirements of title 41, chapter 23, Arizona Revised Statutes.

D. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
