An Act
appropriating monies to the department of administration.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; department of administration; coordinated reentry planning services program; exemption; intent
A. The sum of $17,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the department of administration to distribute to counties for a coordinated reentry planning services program.
B. The department of administration shall distribute the appropriation made in subsection A of this section as follows:
1. $2,300,000 to each of Mohave, Pinal and Yavapai counties to continue to implement coordinated reentry services in each county.
2. $7,100,000 to distribute as grants to counties other than Mohave, Pinal and Yavapai counties to implement coordinated reentry services in each county.
3. $3,000,000 to the Arizona criminal justice commission to develop a cross-system recidivism tracking database that satisfies the requirements of section 11-392, Arizona Revised Statutes.
C. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
D. The legislature intends that the appropriation made in subsection A of this section be considered ongoing funding in future years.
