A Concurrent Resolution

 

proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Arizona; repealing article XXX, section 1, Constitution of Arizona; amending article XXX, Constitution of Arizona, by adding a new section 1; relating to marriage.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:

1. Article XXX, section 1, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be repealed as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

Article XXX, section 1, Constitution of Arizona, relating to marriage, is repealed.

2. Article XXX, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended by adding a new section 1 as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

1. Marriage

Section 1. Marriage between two individuals shall not be prohibited or void on the basis of the sex, race, ethnicity or national origin of those individuals.

3. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
