HB 2517: government documents; sex identification

Overview
Specifies that an individual's sex indication on a document issued by an agency, board, commission or department of the state or a political subdivision (state documents) may only be male or female.
History
Documents that must have sex indication include:
1) birth certificates and birth registrations;
2) an individual's death record and registration of death;
3) certain Department of Corrections documents; and
4) driver licenses and non-operating licenses(9 A.A.C. 19,13 A.A.C. 1,17 A.A.C. 4).
Provisions
1. Stipulates that if a state document requires an individual's sex, only male or female may be indicated. (Sec. 1)
