Overview

History

The Fund is administered by the Arizona Department of Veterans' Services (ADVS) and is continuously appropriated and non-lapsing. The Fund is comprised of gifts, certain special license plate fees and voluntary contributions from taxpayer refunds. Statute requires ADVS to adopt policies for grants of under $5,000 that create as much competition as practicable. In addition, there are separate subaccounts of the Fund dedicated to the Enduring Freedom Memorial, women veterans' grants and higher education scholarships (A.R.S. § 41-608).
