Overview

Appropriates $360,000 from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2024 to the Secretary of State (SOS).

History

The SOS is an elected constitutional officer of the state (Arizona Constitution, Art. V, Sec. 1). In addition to elections responsibilities, the SOS also oversees trademark and trade name registration, Uniform Commercial Code filings and notary public registration (A.R.S. §§  41-121; 41-126). According to the FY 2024 Baseline Book, the SOS has 144.1 full-time equivalent positions in the Baseline (JLBC).
