An Act

 

appropriating monies to the trauma recovery center fund.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriation; trauma recovery center fund; state pilot trauma recovery center

A. The sum of $7,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the trauma recovery center fund established by section 36-4102, Arizona Revised Statutes.

B. Not more than five percent of the monies appropriated to the fund by subsection A of this section may be used by the department of health services to administer the fund. The remaining monies shall be used by the department to provide all of the following:

1. Funding for a technical assistance grant to help establish, train and coordinate a state pilot trauma recovery center.

2. Three years of funding to help cover operational and service costs of the state pilot trauma recovery center.

3. Funding for a grant to a public research institution to track data and outcomes of the state pilot trauma recovery center and to produce a report at the conclusion of the pilot.
