proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Arizona; amending article IV, part 2, section 2, Constitution of Arizona; relating to qualifications of members of the legislature.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:

1. Article IV, part 2, section 2, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

2. Qualifications of members of legislature

Section 2. No person shall be a member of the Legislature unless he shall be the person is a citizen of the United States at the time of his election, nor unless he shall be is at least twenty-five eighteen years of age, and shall have has been a resident of Arizona for at least three consecutive years at the time of election and of the county district from which he is elected for at least one consecutive year before his at the time of election.

2. Short title

This act may be cited as the "Arizona Civic Participation Act".

3. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
