An Act
amending title 26, chapter 1, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 26-128; relating to the state militia.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 26, chapter 1, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 26-128, to read:
26-128. Governor; militia; active duty; exemption
A. Notwithstanding any other law, the governor may call all or part of the militia of this state into active duty to do any of the following:
1. Repel an invasion.
2. Suppress an insurrection.
3. Enforce the laws of this state as required by public interest and safety.
4. Assist in guarding prisoners.
5. Convey prisoners within this state.
B. For the purposes of this section, members of the militia of this state are exempt from the certification requirements of the Arizona peace officer standards and training board.
