An Act
allowing for a joint legislative committee on metal theft.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Joint legislative committee on metal theft; members; duties; delayed repeal
A. The president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives for the fifty-sixth legislature, second regular session, may appoint a joint legislative committee on metal theft that is composed of legislators to review:
1. The effectiveness of title 44, chapter 11, article 3.1, Arizona Revised Statutes, in deterring crime.
2. Industry's costs to comply with title 44, chapter 11, article 3.1, Arizona Revised Statutes.
B. The committee may report on its findings to the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives by December 1, 2024.
C. This section is repealed from and after December 31, 2024.
