Description
The bill would require the Department of Health Services (DHS) to convene stakeholders and staff to develop recommendations to improve the availability of obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) services in high-risk rural communities. The group would be required to report its findings to the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House by December 31, 2025.
Estimated Impact
We estimate that the bill's fiscal impact would be minimal to the extent that DHS experiences increased administrative costs on a one-time basis. The exact cost would be dependent on DHS' implementation of the bill's provisions.
We have asked DHS for their estimate and are awaiting a response.
Local Government Impact
