"Sec. 2. Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2907.16, to read:

START_STATUTE36-2907.16. Mental health medications; report

On or before December 1, 2026 and each December 1 thereafter, the administration shall provide a report to the speaker of the house of representatives, the president of the senate, the chairpersons of the appropriations committees of the senate and the house of representatives, or their successor committees, and the directors of the joint legislative budget committee and the governor's office of strategic planning and budgeting, and a copy of the report to the secretary of state's office, that includes all of the following:

1. The total number of medication claims that were not subject to prior authorization or step-therapy protocols prescribed to members in accordance with section 36-2907, subsection A, paragraph 4 during the previous fiscal year.

2. The total number of members that were prescribed medications that were not subject to prior authorization or step-therapy protocols in accordance with section 36-2907, subsection A, paragraph 4 during the previous fiscal year.

3. The aggregate gross total amount paid by the system related to medications prescribed in accordance with section 36-2907, subsection A, paragraph 4 during the previous fiscal year.

4. The aggregate amount of all rebates received related to medications prescribed in accordance with section 36-2907, subsection A, paragraph 4 during the previous fiscal year.

5. The aggregate savings from reduced hospitalizations, inpatient treatment and emergency services attributable to medications prescribed in accordance with section 36-2907, subsection A, paragraph 4 during the previous fiscal year. END_STATUTE

Sec. 3. Legislative intent

The legislature intends for the realized savings associated with the changes to section 36-2907, subsection A, paragraph 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, as amended by this act, be prioritized for enhancing services, including housing, for persons who have a serious mental illness and who are not eligible to receive services through the Arizona health care cost containment system."
