Summary of the Strike-Everything Amendment to HB 2739

Overview

Repeals the Board of Homeopathic and Integrated Medicine Examiners (Board) and transfers its powers, duties and remaining fund monies to the Naturopathic Physician's Medical Board.

History

The Board examines, licenses and regulates homeopathic physicians and medical assistants. The Board consists of two public members and five professional members licensed to practice homeopathic and integrated medicine, each appointed by the governor to serve three-year terms and no more than three consecutive terms. Responsibilities of the board include: 1) conducting examinations for and issuing licenses; 2) enforcing standards of practice; 3) collecting and accounting for fees and depositing the earned monies in the appropriate fund; and 4) maintaining records of all licenses and actions taken on a license (A.R.S. §§ 32-2902, 32-2904).

1.   Transfers the powers and duties of the Board to the Naturopathic Physician's Medical Board. (Sec. 2).
