ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Fifty-Sixth Legislature, Second Regular Session
telecommunications fund; report; posting
Purpose
Requires the Director of the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) to post the Telecommunications Program Office (TPO) report on the ADOA website.
Background
The TPO is established within ADOA to enter into a primary contract with a corporation to provide for the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and act as the state's agent for telecommunication carrier services. Each state office, department and agency must contract with the primary contractor through the TPO and make payments to the primary contractor for its telecommunications needs (A.R.S. § 41-712). The Telecommunications Fund (Fund) is established to pay the costs incurred in operating the TPO and consists of legislative appropriations, grants and monies derived from administering the TPO, the sale or exchange of telecommunications assets and for services provided by the TPO.
In connection with ADOA's annual legislative budget request, ADOA must prepare a report accounting for all monies deposited in the Fund, the sources of monies received for deposit, the purposes for which Fund monies were used during the preceding fiscal year and plans for using Fund monies during the next fiscal year (A.R.S. § 41-713).
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state General Fund associated with this legislation.
