appropriation; Arizona trail fund
Purpose
Appropriates $250,000 in FY 2025 from the state General Fund (state GF) to the Arizona Trail Fund (Fund) and exempts the appropriation from lapsing.
Background
The Arizona Trail is a state scenic trail that extends approximately 800 miles between the southern and northern borders of Arizona which is meant to memorialize U.S. Congressman Bob Stump for his significant contributions to the trails and people of Arizona.
The Fund consists of legislative appropriations and donations. Fund monies are continuously appropriated for the sole purpose of maintaining and preserving the Arizona Trail. The Arizona State Parks Board administers the Fund and must accept gifts and grants of private and public monies to be deposited into the Fund (A.R.S. § 41-511.15).
S.B. 1176 appropriates $250,000 in FY 2025 from the state GF to the Fund.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $250,000 in FY 2025 from the state GF to the Fund.
2. Exempts the appropriation from lapsing.
3. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
