AN ACT
amending title 15, CHAPTER 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-120.05; relating to public schools.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-120.05, to read:
15-120.05. Water safety courses; swimming lessons; information; providers; definition
A. Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, each school district and charter school shall provide to each parent who initially enrolls a child in the school district or charter school and to each student who is at least eighteen years of age the following in an electronic or printed format:
1. Information on the role of water safety education courses and swimming lessons in saving lives.
2. A list of local providers of water safety courses or swimming lessons, or both, that result in certification, including providers that offer water safety courses or swimming lessons, or both, for free or at a reduced price.
B. For the purposes of this section, "water safety course" means age-appropriate education that is intended to promote safety in, on and around bodies of water and to reduce the risk of injury or drowning.
