An Act

 

appropriating monies to the department of economic security.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriations; department of economic security; early childhood grant writer; report

A. The sum of $100,000 and one full-time equivalent position are appropriated from the state general fund in each of fiscal years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 to the department of economic security for an early childhood grant writer.  The grant writer shall identify grants for early childhood educational and care services for children from birth through five years of age and to assist providers in applying for the grants, assist providers in obtaining licensure and offer guidance on the execution of grant awards.

B. On or before September 1, 2027, the department shall report to the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, the governor and the secretary of state:

1. The number of successful grant awards that the grant writer assisted with.

2. The total dollar value of the successful awards.

3. The number of individuals and organizations that received the successful awards.
