AN ACT
Amending title 36, chapter 4, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding sections 36-424.01 and 36-424.02; relating to health care institutions.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 36, chapter 4, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding sections 36-424.01 and 36-424.02, to read:
36-424.01. Accreditation; condition of licensure
A. In order to be licensed pursuant to this chapter, except as provided in subsection B of this section, A health care institution that is licensed to provide inpatient, residential or outpatient behavioral health services shall be accredited by an independent, nonprofit accrediting organization approved by the secretary of the United States department of health and human services.
B. On or before October 1, 2027, In order to be licensed pursuant to this chapter, a health care institution that is licensed to provide inpatient, residential or outpatient behavioral health services in a county with a population of less than one million persons shall be accredited as prescribed in subsection A of this section.
36-424.02. Behavioral health facilities; sober living home license number disclosure; department compliance verification; definition
A. A behavioral health outpatient TREATMENT center's patient intake form shall include the license number of the sober living home in which the patient is living, if applicable. The DEPARTMENT shall verify compliance with the requirement of this section during any in-person survey or complaint investigation.
B. For the purposes of this section, "sober living home" has the same meaning prescribed in section 36-2061.
