AN ACT
amending title 8, chapter 4, article 4, arizona revised statutes, by adding section 8-530.08; amending title 15, chapter 1, article 5, arizona revised statutes, by adding section 15-160.03; relating to child welfare.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 8, chapter 4, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 8-530.08, to read:
8-530.08. DCS case worker; school visit; identification requirement
A. When a department caseworker visits a child at the child's school for the purpose of an interview, the caseworker shall present both of the following forms of identification:
1. The caseworker's department identification.
2. The caseworker's valid driver license or valid nonoperating identification license.
b. If a caseworker declines or is unable to provide the forms of identification listed in subsection a of this section, the caseworker shall provide the child's school with the contact information for the department office where the caseworker is employed. The school shall contact the department office and verify the caseworker's identification and employment.
Sec. 2. Title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-160.03, to read:
15-160.03. Department of child safety caseworker; school visit; identification requirement
A. When a department of child safety caseworker visits a child at the child's school for the purpose of an interview, the school shall require that the caseworker present both of the following forms of identification:
1. The caseworker's department of child safety identification.
2. The caseworker's valid driver license or valid nonoperating identification license.
b. If a department of child safety caseworker declines or is unable to provide the forms of identification listed in subsection a of this section, the department of child safety caseworker shall provide the child's school with the contact information for the department of child safety office where the caseworker is employed. The school shall contact the department of child safety office and verify the caseworker's identification and employment.
