Overview

Supports the Palo Verde Generating station and the safe and efficient use of nuclear energy.

History

The Palo Verde Generating System (PVGS) is located approximately 55 miles from downtown Phoenix, Arizona. PVGS is one of the largest nuclear power plants in all of America, it contains a combined capacity of 3.8 Gigawatts (U.S. Energy Information Administration). PVGS produces electricity powering portions of the states of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas. (PVGS).

Provisions

1.   States the Legislature's support of the Palo Verde Generating Station and the safe and efficient use of nuclear energy.

2.   Directs the Arizona Secretary of State to transmit copies of this Resolution to the President of the US Senate, Speaker of the US House of Representatives and each member of Congress from Arizona.
