Overview
Appropriates monies from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2026 to specified entities for a 15% salary increase of outlined employees.
History
The Arizona Department of Corrections (DOC) is responsible for the administrative function of all matters related to the rehabilitation, institutionalization and community supervision of all adult offenders as well as providing the supervisory staff. The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) oversees all committed youth's supervision, rehabilitation, treatment and education (A.R.S. §§ 41-1602 and 41-2802).
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) is responsible for creating and coordinating services related to protecting public safety for local law enforcement agencies. DPS's divisions include the Arizona Highway Patrol, narcotics enforcement and criminal investigations, scientific criminal analysis and training and education (A.R.S. §§ 41-1711 and 41-1712 ).
Provisions
1. Appropriates the following amounts in FY 2026 from the state GF to the following entities for a 15% salary increase:
a) $71,100,000 to DOC for correctional officers;
b) $1,000,000 to DOC for DOC investigators;
c) $3,800,000 to ADJC for correctional officers;
d) $34,000,000 to DPS for all employees;
e) $8,499,150 to the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) for all state employees of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and Superior Court, except for judges and justices; and
f) $10,164,000 to AOC for all state-funded probation officers and staff. (Sec. 1)
