Committee on Judiciary

Overview

Diverts a $15,300,000 appropriation initially designated for a nonprofit rodeo operator at the Yavapai County fairgrounds to the City of Prescott.

History

The FY 2024 General Appropriation Act appropriated $15,300,000 to a nonprofit volunteer organization that operates a rodeo at the Yavapai County fairgrounds.  Laws 2024, Ch. 209 exempted the appropriation from lapsing and additionally stated that if a court with jurisdiction rules the appropriated monies may not be distributed to the nonprofit, the monies must revert to the State General Fund within 60 days of the judgement.

Provisions

1.   Reallocates $15,300,000 appropriated by the FY 2024 General Appropriation Act, from a nonprofit volunteer organization that operates a rodeo at the Yavapai county fairgrounds, to the City of Prescott to renovate and repair the rodeo grounds owned by the city. (Sec. 1)
