SB 1622: narcotic drugs; definition

Overview
Includes various new substances in the definition of narcotic drugs.
History
It is illegal to knowingly possess, use, manufacture, transport or sell narcotic drugs, which are specifically defined and include substances of natural and synthetic origin such as heroin, cocaine, methadone and others. Penalties for drug range from a class 4 felony to a class 2 felony; in addition, enhanced penalties, including mandatory prison time, may be imposed when certain conditions are met (A.R.S. §§ 13-3401; 13-3408).
Provisions
1. Adds the following substances to the definition of narcotic drugs:
a) butonitazene;
b) etodesnitazene;
c) etonitazepyne;
d) flunitazene;
e) isotonitazene;
f) metodesnitazene;
g) metonitazene; and
h) protonitazene. (Sec. 1)
2. Makes conforming changes. (Sec. 1)
