SUBJECT: Strike everything amendment to S.B. 1067, relating to auditor general; appropriation
Purpose
Appropriates $2,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2026 to the Auditor General (OAG) for software to be used to conduct audits of state agencies and school districts.
Background
The OAG is
charged with several powers and duties, including: 1) preparing an audit plan
for approval by the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC); 2) conducting
audits relating to the finances and performance of state agencies and
government functions; 3) performing special research requests, special audits
and investigations of state agencies as requested by JLAC;
4) reporting results of each audit, investigation or review to JLAC; and 5)
establishing a schoolwide audit team to conduct performance audits and monitor
school districts (A.R.S.
ยง
41-1279.03).
The strike-everything amendment to S.B. 1067 appropriates $2,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2026 to the OAG.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $2,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2026 to the OAG for software to be used to conduct audits of state agencies and school districts.
2. Exempts the appropriation from lapsing.
3. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
