ARIZONA STATE SENATE

appropriation; State Route 347; widening
Purpose
Appropriates $16,291,610 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2026 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to widen and improve State Route (SR) 347 between Interstate 10 (I-10) and the City of Maricopa.
Background
ADOT is responsible for the design and construction of state public transportation systems and the maintenance and operation of state highways in Arizona (A.R.S. § 28-332). ADOT may contract and do all things necessary to secure the full benefits available to Arizona for transportation purposes under federal law. ADOT may cooperate with: 1) federal, state and local government agencies; 2) Indian tribes; 3) private and public organizations; and 4) private individuals. ADOT may exchange federal monies with local governments in order to receive local monies and may include additional federal monies in the exchange to offset the matching costs required of local governments (A.R.S. § 28-334).
The SR 347 spans 15 miles between the I-10 and the City of Maricopa (ADOT).
H.B. 2557 appropriates $16,291,610 from the state GF in FY 2026 to ADOT to widen and improve SR 347 between the I-10 and the City of Maricopa.
Provisions
2. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
