ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Fifty-Seventh Legislature, First Regular Session
appropriation; Glendale; 75th Avenue reconstruction
Purpose
Appropriates $3,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2026 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to distribute to the City of Glendale (Glendale) for the 75th Avenue reconstruction project.
Background
ADOT is tasked
to provide for an integrated balanced state transportation system and has
exclusive control and jurisdiction over all state: 1) highways; 2) roads; 3)
owned airports; and
4) owned transportation systems or modes. ADOT is responsible for the design
and construction of transportation facilities in accordance with a priority
plan and to maintain and operate all state owned highways, airports and public
transportation systems (A.R.S. ยงยง 28-331
and 28-332).
H.B. 2858 appropriates $3,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2026 to ADOT.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $3,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2026 to ADOT to distribute to Glendale for the 75th Avenue reconstruction project.
2. Requires ADOT to only distribute monies if Glendale demonstrates to ADOT that Glendale has a commitment for matching monies of gift, grants and donations of at least 20 percent of the total estimated cost of the project from sources other than the state.
3. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
