ARIZONA STATE SENATE

AMENDED
Donald J. Trump highway
Purpose
Urges the Arizona State Board on Geographic and Historical Names (ASBGHN) to rename State Route (SR) 260 as the Donald J. Trump Highway.
Background
The AZBGHN is responsible for: 1) determining the most appropriate names for geographic features and places of historical significance in Arizona; and 2) establishing or designating a highway or area as a parkway, historic road or scenic road that is of geographic or historical significance in Arizona (A.R.S. ยง 41-835.02).
Originally known as the General Crook Trail, SR 260 is 193-miles long, stretching from Heber to Eager, Arizona (ADOT).
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state General Fund associated with this legislation.
Provisions
1. Urges AZBGHN to designate SR 260 as the Donald J. Trump Highway and approve, place and maintain appropriate signage identifying the designated highway.
2. Directs the Secretary of State to transmit a copy of this memorial to the Chair of the AZBGHN.
Amendments Adopted by Committee
1. Replaces the Arizona Department of Transportation with the AZBGHN.
2. Makes conforming changes.
